'Ndrangheta e Politica - Lettera di Andrea Albergati

Pubblichiamo di seguito la lettera che Andrea Albergati, ex Sindaco di Pavia, ha scritto in merito alle infiltration of the 'Ndrangheta in entrepreneurial and political bunting. A lucid analysis and some useful tips to Alessandro Cattaneo and should in our view, follow the advice of his predecessor.

Dear Director,
in Notes of the news events that affect our city these days, both I and the councilors of the Democratic Party have chosen to maintain an attitude that respects the dignity of the person and work of the judiciary, without facile generalizations and improper. However, recent statements by some politicians of the center-local lead me to some consideration.

E’ del tutto evidente che le persone coinvolte nelle indagini hanno da tempo relazioni sociali e politiche ampie e articolate sia a Pavia che in provincia. E’ peraltro evidente che la politica, per propria natura, tende all’espansione del consenso ed al coinvolgimento di ambiti sempre più vasti di persone alla partecipazione nella gestione della cosa pubblica.
Non è quindi sorprendente che gli amministratori di un qualsiasi territorio incrocino quotidianamente il mondo degli «affari» (leciti o illeciti spetta alla magistratura definirlo) e che questo momento di contatto possa generare problemi, distorsioni, clientele, soprattutto in un momento di particolare difficoltà economica per tutto il paese. E’ però compito di chi siede in giunta mettere in atto tutte le cautele possibili perché eventuali malintenzionati non trovino terreno fertile per la loro azione. Nel corso del consiglio comunale del 16 luglio scorso ho cercato di elencare una serie di comportamenti che meglio tutelano l’amministrazione comunale rispetto alle possibili infiltrazioni della malavita. I realize that it is a difficult choice, but I believe it is necessary for the good of Pavia.
